School supplies, yay!!

Hi guys!! I hope everyone is having a great start to school! It’s almost ninety degrees here in Jersey today, so I say it’s clearly still summer. :O)

I promised some news updates, and here ya go.

A few years ago I wrote two books for teenagers called LEAP DAY and HEAVEN LOOKS A LOT LIKE THE MALL. They both have main characters in high school and deal with high school themes. Since then I’ve fallen in love with writing books that have younger characters, and these two books sort of got lost. BUT NOW they’re back!! They both have shiny new editions with an author’s note at the beginning, and I updated the text a bit for younger readers. I think they’re fine now for 12 and up, but as with anything, you may want to run it by parents/guardians/etc beforehand if you’re not sure. Here are their pretty new covers:

Thank you to everyone who has been sending in comments about two upcoming books–THE CANDYMAKERS AND THE GREAT CHOCOLATE CHASE and GRACEFUL. To answer the most common questions: GRACEFUL will wrap up the Willow Falls series in April, 2015. The main storyline will be Grace’s as she adjusts to the surprising changes brought into her life at the end of THE LAST PRESENT, but you’ll hear from your old favorites, too, as they all share their thoughts in special sections sprinkled throughout the book. I know April sounds far away, but it’ll give you a chance to finish the other four if you haven’t. ;o)

The Candymakers sequel will be out about a year after that, but I will update with specifics later. As for the plot, the Candymakers hit the road in search of…of…well actually, i’m not quite sure yet! But there will be chocolate, and geocaching, and a lot of surprises along the way! I’d love to hear about any strange or unusual sights you’ve seen in your travels. And feel free to suggest some new candies for the factory!

The second book in my new younger reader chapter book series, SPACE TAXI 2: Water Planet Rescue, will be out the first week of September! spacetaxi2cover Check out our first review!

“Newly recruited Intergalactic Security Force deputy Archie Morningstar prepares for his first mission as co-pilot and navigator aboard his father’s space taxi. Its likable hero is just one reason to love this intergalactic space adventure.

When Pockets, a fellow agent who just happens to be a talking cat, gets the call to investigate a mysterious weather situation on the planet Nautilus, the three fire up the taxi and blast off. However, since Nautilus is a water planet, they will need to make a pit stop at Akbar’s Floating Rest Stop to modify their taxi, pick up some new gadgets and scarf down some bagels. Archie quickly learns that extraterrestrials come in all forms. On Nautilus, those who live under the sea or above water all look decidedly fishy. Unfortunately, something is happening to all the water, putting both civilizations in danger. Archie and his fellow deputies quickly discover that the evil organization B.U.R.P. is to blame—and it is up to them to thwart their plans. With wacky adventure, imaginative settings and wildly varied ETs, this series has endless potential. Archie’s sense of wonder and dedication to his newfound responsibility are inspirational. Line drawings and a trio of science facts further enhance this enjoyable interstellar romp. (Adventure. 6-9) KIRKUS REVIEWS

That’s about all for now. :o)

Happy reading and thank you for checking in.

Peace!

Wendy

Candy, candy, candy. My favourite book of yours is The Candymakers, and I can’t wait for the sequel. Even if I will be really old by then.

You already have the jellybeans, and the s’mores, and the taffy, and the chocolate bar and the harmonica… But I’m missing a piano, drum set, saxophone and trumpet. And clarinet. I’m kidding, okay.

But, my question is, WHERE ARE THE JUJUBES?! Because those are just so tasty and so cute and… Yes, I did just call jujubes cute. And yes, that is weird. But think about it: with big eyes they would just be adorable.

But please, if you DO end up putting jujubes in your book, don’t give it eyes. That would just be creepy and I wouldn’t be able to eat them.

Ooh, you should write about odd-sounding but yummy-tasting jujubes. Like pizza. And ice cream. And raspberry rhubarb pie!!

And now I’m thinking about bubble tea. And if there was bubble tea-like candy… Or jujubes…

    Now I’m really hungry. 🙂

I’m so excited!!! I can’t wait for the new book to come. You are my favorite author. A couple of years ago, I finished Harry potter and I didn’t know what to read. My friend showed me your books and I loved them ever since. I love writing. I realized it when I was very little. I really want to write a book though. It is my dream. Can you give me some advice? Also some ideas of publishers? Thanks I would really appreciate it . Have a great day!!!!!

    Hi Wendy,

I’ve been waiting for an update on GRACEFUL and here it is. Thank you sooooooo much and I just had a great idea. Why don’t you just keep on extending the Willow Falls series until they get married or something? It’s actually a great idea and of course, I love your other books too. Anyways, I can’t wait for April and I was wondering where I can buy it.?

Also, keep on updating your blog. Bye!!!

    Dear Wendy Mass

i was checking for a while to see if you had a new post and i was hoping that today was the day and YAY!!!!! so i recently bought the Candymakers but then i found A Mango Shaped Space (REALLY great, but i had some questions for the end). So i read that and now i am going to start the Candymakers so that when the new one comes out i will be able to do that. Also, you should do a candy called the “sugar burst” (no idea what it would be but i think it would be cool) and i think you should come up with a name for some sort of chocolate. As well, when i was on vacation (this year and last year) i saw an INSANE amount of bunnies. 🙂
Okay, so i just want to say that i am SOOOOOOO excited for the new Willow Falls book. 11 birthdays was the book that got me into your books. and i now you’re my favorite author!!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 So thank you for all the writing that you do

    YOU’RE AWESOME!!!!

I’m VERY excited for the GRACEFUL book to come out and the Candymakers sequel!! Willow Falls and the Candymakers are awesome series!! I’ve read all the Willow Falls books but 11 Birthdays was my favorite! Thank you for writing them down so that people like me can enjoy them! Keep up the good work! 🙂 🙂 🙂

  8. Isa on September 6, 2014 at 3:35 pm

    Hi Wendy!

I have an interesting travel story to share. We were taking a vacation within a vacation in Peru, and our car broke down. So we had to wait at a gas station, with a bunch of stray dogs. Then the owners of the gas station felt bad for us and gave us A stick of sugarcane! We were stuck there for about four hours and finally the mechanic came.

About candy… My idea is a cand called Hidden Candy Clouds. They’re about the size of a tennis ball and mainly made of cotton candy. BUT inside is a “Life is Sweet” candy. (They’re different for each one) the package comes with a mini plastic fork to eat the cloud.

    Thanks for considering!!!

    Isa

    • Wendy Mass on September 9, 2014 at 12:20 pm

Hi Isa! LOVE that story (not that it was probably that fun to live it, but very atmospheric and a memory you’ll never forget!), and it will inspire an “RV breaks down” part of the book! And the candy ideas are great, too!! I’m starting up a list now of all the great ideas you guys have!
      Thanks!!
      xo

    • shira on October 13, 2014 at 12:29 pm

Hi im shira and i am a HUGE fan of your books.I have a weird travel experience. My friend and I were at a ski resort in Tahoe and we were really excited to ski for the 4th time on our vacation. We had not gone to this ski resort yet. we got on the ski lift and the first thing we noticed was that THE SKI LIFT HAD NO BAR IN FRONT!!!!!!!! so we could have easily fallen off. And just as my friend and I reached the highest point the lift stopped working!!.It just left us suspended in midair with no bar in front the lift was bouncing like crazy and they finally had to call an electrician. I waited up their for the longest 30 minutes of my life and finally the electrician arrived. and helt the tiny copper wires together the lift moved SLOWLY until finally we got off.

I have a candy idea too.Made out of taffy and its shaped like a bee. And It is fillled with honey flavored pop rocks. Also I have another candy too where its jalapeno flavored and when you bite it smoke comes Out!. I own Every soul a star, the candymakers, Pi in the sky, 11 birthdays, Finally, 13 gifts A mango shaped space and Jeremy fink and the meaniing of life. In the candymakers you have inspired me to have canndymaking as one of the activities for my 12th slumber party. Hope you find my suggestions useful. Thanks, Shira

  12. Reens on September 7, 2014 at 1:58 am

I love all your books, especially the willow falls series. I own 11 birthdays, finally, 13 gifts, the last present, beauty and the beast, the candymakers, every soul a star, um, I think that’s it (for now). I think the candymakers is my favorite. so anyway, I’ve read almost all your books, and when I got home from camp this summer, I reread every soul a star, and then the willow falls series, etc., etc., and then I decided I’m going to have a Mass Marathon 4 myself (like a movie marathon). I got all the books I don’t have from the library, and I’m really excited. some people count how many times they read harry potter, I count how many times I read wendy mass books.

    sincerely, your #1 fan,
    Rena

p.s. when are you coming to Los Angeles? all of my friends love your books and would love to meet you.

    • Wendy Mass on September 9, 2014 at 12:17 pm

Hi Rena! You’re so sweet!!! I hope you enjoyed your marathon and i’m glad the library had them!! No LA trips in the near future, but I’ll let ya know if that changes!! Hugs!!!

hi, Wendy! I am the newest fan of yours. I got hooked on your books last year when I had to read your book 11 birthdays for class and it was truly amazing. I kept reading it again and again until I knew everything that happened. I just recently read your book, Finally, and I am wondering what happened to Rory? Is she dating Jake Harrison? I am really curious about it .Please reply. Also, something else caught my eye. I always notice how you put the Angelina lady with the duck shaped birthmark on her cheek in the story. You also put the other characters in the book from the willow falls series. For example, Leo Fitzgerald and Amanda Ellerby in Finally. Thank you for reading. I hope you reply.

    • Wendy Mass on September 9, 2014 at 12:16 pm

HI! To find out about Rory…all you have to do is find the rest of the books in the series. :o) (13 Gifts is next). It was fun to weave all the characters into each book, i’m glad you noticed! :O)
      Wendy

  14. Maddy on September 7, 2014 at 8:58 pm

I’m SO excited for Graceful to come out! But also REALLY sad because once it comes out, then that’ll be the end of getting to read about everyone in Willow Falls. Do you think that there’s any chance in the future (even if it’s YEARS into the future) that you might continue with the series after? I hope so! But either way, I just LOVE the series!
I’m also really glad to here that we’ll get to hear from the other characters throughout the book! I hope that there are LOTS of Amanda/Leo moments! I just love them!
I also ADORE the covers for Leap Day and Heaven Looks A Lot Like The Mall! I read both of them over a year ago so I’m not 100% accurate about anything I say next. Are the 4 girls on the cover of Leap Day ummm… Josie, Samantha and their 2 other friends? Sorry, that I can’t remember their names.
I also can’t wait for The Candymakers And The Great Chocolate Chase! I just love road trip books! A candy that changes your voice pitch or maybe candy that is mini versions of real food ( pizza, hamburgers, hotdogs, anything!) that tastes the same. Or maybe something that looks really good but tastes really sour so you can trick your friends. I don’t know, just ideas 🙂
And it would be cool if you add some inside joke from one of up your other books 😉 haha, Is there any new news on the movie?
Keep writing! Love your books 🙂
    -Maddy

    • Wendy Mass on September 9, 2014 at 12:15 pm

Hi Maddy! Thanks for the candy suggestions, they’re great!! In Graceful you’ll sort of get a peek at the characters’ futures (shh…can’t say more than that. ;o). So hopefully that will give you good closure. :o)
Glad you like the new covers!
      xo
      Wendy

    • Marita on October 2, 2014 at 2:40 am

Yeah, that’s a good idea with the slight references of other books in the Candy Makers. Or even just in GRACEFUL Leo could mention that Life’s Sweet chocolate bars are even better than chocolate chip pancakes 😉

  15. Maddy on September 9, 2014 at 5:11 pm

I don’t know about strange or unusual things happening on road trips, but I know that something annoying is this GPS we have in our car that just keeps talking, and ALWAYS says, “slow down, you are going over the speed limit” even if you’re below the speed limit! Plus the GPS is outdated, so it tells you to go down roads that don’t even exist anymore, and refuses to tell you any other way to get there (if you do go the wrong way it’ll keep saying, “you’re going the wrong way” and “turn around in _____meters”) and one time while listening to Just Give Me A Reason, the cars volume just kept getting louder and louder and wouldn’t turn down! It just kept going up! Then after my aunt finally got it to go down the turning sound knob thing fell off.
Something else that’s annoying is when one person in the car just seems to ALWAYS have to go to the washroom!
Again, can’t wait for your next books to come out!!!

WHAT?? 2015?? Man, GRACEFUL better be real good if you’re making wait this long. Haha. Just kidding. of course it will be good. I mean, this is THE Wendy Mass we’re talking about here! Best author ever, hands down! I just cannot wait another DAY for GRACEFUL. But NEXT YEAR? I’ll die before the time comes. Actually, I take that back. Then I wouldn’t be able to read the book. When I found out that you were writing a GRACEFUL, I was in the best mood ever for about a week or two. It’s going to feel like 7 million years till the book comes out, but it will be totally worth it. Can’t wait! I’ll be the first to get the book?
    You’re biggest fan, Lydia

Ahhhhhhhh!!! I’m so excited to read both Graceful and the Candymakers sequel! I’m a big fan of those books! I had to do a class project and I chose the Candymakers, so it was really fun to get to reread it and research it. I don’t have a new candy idea, but I think it’d be really cool if Logan somehow completed his Bubbletastic ChocoRocket! Anyways, I love your books!!!!

  23. Madeline on September 13, 2014 at 3:44 pm

    Wendy,
First, I love your work. I really admire how you are so kind to fans and even ask for input and ideas. I dream of being an amazing author like you one day. I too am SO excited for Graceful and The Candymakers And The Great Chocolate Chase. My siblings and I have been brainstorming candy ideas and here’s what we came up with: Candy medicine- I don’t know exactly what, but some type of ‘candy’ that helps you get over the flu, or an ointment that you put on burns and bruises that heals them? I’ll keep thinking and post more ideas.

I think I want to become a writer because of you! I love to write. Can you give me some tips or publishers for the near future? That would be amazing. Jus reply as soon as you can.
    Have a great day!!!!

I think you should let Leo in graceful find a puppy. Just to spruce it up a little bit. I ca’t wait till they both come out. I am in the middle of writing my own book. Except it is going so slow.

  26. Julia on September 14, 2014 at 9:40 pm

    YAY! ANOTHER UPDATE!
I’m sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited for Graceful! To be honest, I never thought I could never have a favorite book series (since I love reading too much and if I picked a favorite it would be like a mother picking her favorite kid), but once I saw Willow Falls, I went to Wendy Mass Heaven. I just finished reading Every Soul a Star, which is AMAZING (like every other one of your book’s ;P), and it inspired me to write my story in three point of views.
I love to write, also. And by “love”, I mean LOVE. I’m still figuring out my plot, but do you have any tips? I can’t explain how amazing your books are, and I want to try to write something that will grab the reader’s attention like yours does.
    🙂 Keep writing!

    Hi Wendy!
I have finished the first book I have read by you today and it was AWESOME! That book was 11 birthdays. Next I am going to read the last present. I started reading your books because my friends think your books are the best and I am not kidding. My sister also loves your books.I wish I could see you.

    Love, Audrey

I love, love love your books! I can barely wait until the release of Graceful. The willow falls series is soooo good! Any trips to the DFW area soon? A cool candy would be a color burst stars with different colors that make your tongue the opposite color and the taste a super sour-sweet mix of all the colors. By the way any chances the willow falls series is being turned into a television series or movie?

Hi! I love your books. I can’t wait for Graceful to come out. I can’t stop reading the series. I have 2 ideas for candy. First, a pancake candy that is called panqueque (I learned that in Spanish class). It looks like and tastes like pancakes but it is fluffier and sweeter. My second idea is a candy wand that is hard like a peppermint stick but inside there is a gummy filled with sugar. When you tap something (a cupcake) the sugar falls out of the wand to make something sweet. Thanks for your time. Hope you have a great day! You are the best writer!

    Hi Wendy,
Is it true that you are writing another book for the Willow Falls series, a 5th book?
I have already read all the rest of them and they are truly amazing. You are my all-time favorite author and if you are writting a 5th book I’m sure that that it will be just as good or even better.
    Sincerely,

I am soooooo excited for Graceful and candymakers! Your books are amazing. For a vacation my family drove from Arizona to D.C and back. On the way home we stopped in Ohio, the town was in the middle of Amish country and while we were at a store we heard people talking about a town ball game. We saw all these people driving in one direction so we followed them. It was super fun, they had the “English”firemen vs. the Amish, the Amish won. They had a helicopter drop candy, the fire truck spayed foam all over the field for the kids to play in, and games like tug of war. There were delicious apple dumplings with homemade ice cream for sale. There was even a free lottery, my brother got a basketball and i won five dollars. All the people were really nice.(Sorry it’s long). Anyway, I love all your books!
    -Meg

  33. Supriya on September 18, 2014 at 9:40 pm

Hi! I can’t wait for the Candymakers sequel. I love all the characters, and the candy. I have an idea for a candy, though I doubt you would be able to use it. I’ve always wanted there to be an anatomically correct gummy frog, so that instead of dissecting real frogs, you could just dissect a candy! And then you could eat it! I’m kind of glad that Graceful is coming out next year. That way, I’ll be the same age as the characters from the previous Willow Falls books again. I’m so excited for the book – I loved Grace’s chapter of The Last Present. It reminded me of Leap Day a little bit, how she knows so much and stuff.
Recently, I realized that I was sort of synesthetic. Letters and numbers have color (and numbers have personality), but it’s not as vivid as Mia’s colors in A Mango Shaped Space. I remember rereading Mango and laughing a little because almost none of her colors matched what I saw. I’m still not sure if what I have is really synesthesia, but if it is, then your first name is creamy white with a little bit of blue and green, and your last name is mostly blue and yellow with some red.
I’m curious about the new versions of Leap Day and Heaven Looks a Lot Like the Mall. Are they abridged, or something? If I read them, will they be the same as the older version?
Bye! (and sorry if this was too long)

    • Wendy Mass on August 18, 2016 at 11:01 pm

They should be the same. You don’t have to wait any longer as the sequel to Candymakers is here! Happy reading! ????????

Hi! i LOVE the Candymakers and i LOVE the Willow Falls Series so I am SO excited!!! I wonder what happens to Angelina… Anyway, I thought of a new candy and I would be So happy if you included it in your book! Here it is: Bacon Pops!!! JUST KIDDING!! 😉 Ok, now for MY idea… maybe a limited edition candy for back to school time (well in Logan’s case…not really 😉 ) like a pencil, pen, ect. (small back to school items) in the same package so it would be a different candy school supply each time! Maybe the school supply would be made from different foods from the factory… and maybe it would be called… Abraca school supply! ( like abra cadabra;) and ok, thats not such a good name,Wendy, I’m sure you can think of a better one! 😉 ) And I can’t wait to read Heaven Looks a lot like the Mall, Leap Day, Graceful, and the Candymakers and the Great Chocolate Chase!! I hope you reply!

  37. Madeline J on September 23, 2014 at 9:52 pm

Hi Wendy! First off, I’d like to say that you’re my favorite author and whenever I run out of new books to read, yours never get old! I’ve read almost every one of your books at least twice. As for suggestions about new candies….. I kind of have a crazy idea. What if there was a dispenser of any candy you want, and it would have special compartments for all of them. And……. Drumroll please…… The dispenser is made out of chocolate! It’s special chocolate that doesn’t melt, so if you run out of candy to fill it with, you can just eat the dispenser! I know it’s nothing compared to an instrument made of candy, or even a lollipop wrapped in bacon, but I would be really excited if you even used the basic idea of it. If not, that’s okay, there are plenty more ideas to come!

    Hmmm. Travel Stories…
Well this summer I was in Illinois on a trip and we were in Chicago. We stayed in the magnificent mile and straight out the window of our marriot we could see these apartment buildings with greenhouses in the tip if them or gardens. That was pretty cool because you could see these bits of earthiness sticking out in a city full of modernness. Also while we were driving to Nauvoo a historical town we saw Amish buggies and an Amish party going in at a awesomely old Anne of green games sort of house. It was way cool to have a momentary glimpse into a very different culture

    Hi Wendy,
I am a BIG fan of yours! I can’t wait until Graceful and The Candymakers 2 comes out! You already visited my school but I wasn’t in the school at the time and since I’m on my phone the events won’t work so when is the next meet? I live in New Jersey too and it’s getting close to Christmas I love your book cover ideas Leap Day was a really good book and Heaven Looks A Lot Like The Mall was even better! I couldn’t put the book down it was that good! I have read almost all of your books! Maybe just 4. The Space Taxi series and some of the Twice Apon A Time. I think this is a good idea for candy but I don’t know. How about munchkins but instead of cooked dough its raw cookie dough! Because who doesn’t love raw cookie dough?

I LOVE your books Mrs. Mass!!! I’m so glad there’s another book to the Willow Falls series. I thought you had put it aside, but YAY!!! 🙂 Just curious, will there be a movie for any of the Willow Falls books? I really hope there is! 🙂

  41. Lili on September 25, 2014 at 5:49 pm

    Hi Mrs. Mass,

I think it would be cool if in Graceful a new character from a new religion, like Islam, comes in… that’d be kinda cool. 😉

I then checked your website and I found out you were writing The Last Present I was… lets just say absolutely thrilled!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I CANNOT Wait for Graceful to come out!!
I also LOVE Every Soul A Star when I read it it just sucked me in!!! Your books are crazy PAGE-TURNERS!!!

Hi I’m so excited for GRACEFUL! That’s 2 books now that I want to get when they come out in April, which sems like forever away. Anyways, I don’t have an interesting travel story, but I do have a fun place, and it’s candy related! It’s Hershey, PA! It totally fits the candy theme! I think it would be really cool to see it in the book, but that’s just my opinion because I live very close. They could visit Chocolate World and if it’s summertime they could go to Hersheypark, I love going! So yeah, just a suggestion, but I’m really excited for both books!!!

    Hope 🙂

P.s. Do you by chance have an instagram? Not a lot of authors I know of do, but if you do, I’d totally follow you! I have a whole account dedicated to fandoms and books :’D

Thank you and I hope you love the new Candymakers just as much. I do have Instagram so yes you can find my favorite photos there.

  46. Ellie on October 1, 2014 at 8:27 pm

Hi Wendy! i just finished reading the Willow Falls book series for the 3rd time. Brilliant! i just found out today about the sequel to Candymakers and Graceful. i can’t wait for April! i have always wanted to be an author. i wrote my first story when i was 4 and now i’ve written a couple of books but haven’t sent them to a publisher yet, I’m still trying to get through school! So, about graceful, i think you should write a book about when the characters grow up (wedding bells for Amanda and Leo, or is Kylie right, you never stay with you’re first boyfriend?) maybe they all move to different cities and then Angelina or Grace brings them back to Willow Falls for a reunion and Leo and Amanda have a kid who deals with the birthday stuff. Wow! That was a looooooooong sentance! but all i can say is, i can’t handle no more Willow Falls books when you’ve finished writing them! i also came up with a story for the second Candymakers book. Maybe they meet a strange person at the rv park or something who changes everything. my first book that you wrote that i read was the candymakers, and i am glad to see its not over, either. i have all my friends seriously hooked on your books. one is reading pi in the sky, one is reading the Candymakers, one is reading Finally, and so on. i really love your books and i hope i get to meet you someday! Is there any chance you’ll be coming to Missouri anytime soon?
    -Ellie

  48. Colette on October 3, 2014 at 9:09 am

I am so excited for Graceful!!!!!!! You are such an amazing author. I own every single one of your books. I need new copies though because mine are a ripped because I have read them soooooooooooo many times. I wanted to tell you about a funny situation that happened to my cousin and I when we were on vacation. It wasn’t funny at the time but now it is. 🙂
My younger cousin Zadie and I were driving in the car with our families when we stopped at a gas station because Zadie had to go to the bathroom. So, we walk into the bathroom and lock the door behind us. One she finished washing her hands I unlocked the door and open it. It wouldn’t open. It seemed like it was locked on the outside. We were banging on the door trying to get out. It seemed like we were stuck in their forever but we found out later it was only about 10 minutes. Finally, we got out when the store owner unlocked the door. We ran back to the car so fast. It was so scary!!!!!!! Maybe Daisy, Logan, Miles and Phillip can go through a similar thing!
The last thing I wanted to say was thank you. You write the most amazing things and I cant imagine what I would read without you books. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
P.S I would love for you to come to North Carolina. I would LOVE to meet you. I would also go to neighboring states to see you. Let me know!!!!!!!
    Your BIGGEST fan,
    Colette

    Hi Wendy!
I absolutely love all of your books (I just finished reading Every Soul a Star). I can’t wait for Graceful to come out! I read all the Willow Falls books and me and my sister love them! Now my other sister started reading 11 birthdays and she can’t put it down! She keeps asking me random questions about what’s going to happen and its getting so hard not to spoil it for her 😛
The Candymakers is one of my favorite books and I can’t believe there’s going to be a sequel! I’m so excited! I love Daisy; she’s my favorite character and its so cool how she’s a spy. Do you have any news about the movie?
    -Emi

    • Emi on October 3, 2014 at 7:05 pm

Also btw I just saw your Q&A and my favorite movie is The Princess Bride too! Even though it came out more than 10 years before I was born 🙂

Thank you! Daisy is one smart character!

  50. Yael on October 4, 2014 at 11:36 pm

Hi Wendy!!! I read The Candymakers, Rapunzel, and the Willow Falls series, and I love them especially The Candymakers! I don’t know if I’ll be able to wait for the sequel of The Candymakers and the Williw Falls series- I’m just so excited! You are by far my favorite author and I’m definitely going to read more of your books.
For the candy, I’m not so good with these stuff but some ideas are maybe a portrait of someone made of candy? Or maybe like a pack of a mini basketball, baseball, football, soccer ball, and tennis ball all made of candy?( yes, I’m really into sports.) I give up for now but I’ll keep thinking!

    -YAEL
P.S. Do u recommend any particular books of yours to me? I want to read most of them but I don’t know where to start.

  51. Sydney on October 7, 2014 at 9:32 am

Hi Wendy! I have loved reading your books ever since I’ve started. I have only read about 5 of your books, but I love them all. They pull me in and don’t let go! My favorite is a Mango-Shaped Space. Your books have really made me love reading. I am so excited to read Heaven Looks like the mall, and Leap Year. I will try and keep up with all of your books. You’ve really inspired me, and I’m not only reading, but writing like crazy as well. You’re amazing!

I am so jazzed about the 5th book in the Willow Falls Series
Of which I am a HUGE fan!
I own the first four books, A Mango Shaped Space, and The Candymakers
I am borrowing Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life right now
and am on the 6th chapter
Are you making a Willow Falls Series Movie Series???
When Graceful comes out can you do a signed copy giveaway of the whole series???
Are any new characters going to be added to Graceful???
Will Connor become one able to see Angelina’s (and now partly Grace’s) powers
Will all the characters share their stories with one another?
I know you probably have a favorite character and I was wondering who it was
    (from any of your books)
since Graceful is the last book in the series will it have all the characters on the cover like your new edition of Leap Day?
    -Elayna
    P.S. Please reply! <3

Super happy about Graceful!! I’ve read each of the Willow falls series books 5 times!
Just a question I’ve always wondered about the characters what do they look like?
Why do you cover up they’re faces in the covers of the books?

    • Wendy Mass on August 17, 2016 at 6:59 pm

I think as readers read the story they imagine in the best way what the characters look like.

  58. Kimberley on October 12, 2014 at 9:07 am

Hi Wendy! I just wanted to say, in “The Last Present” you never included what Tara’s letter from Julie said. That’s kind of bothering me because I really want to know if Julie is mad or happy at Tara or if they’ll stay in touch. Even though Julie is just a side character and she’s just Tara’s pen pal could you include what she wrote when you write GRACEFUL? If you do thanks a lot but if you don’t include it it’s still okay. I LOVE your books, they are my favourite books of all time and I will keep on reading them until death is on my door. I’m one of your greatest fans.
    Sincerely,
    Kimberley age 10 from Canada,Ontario

    • Wendy Mass on October 17, 2014 at 7:28 pm

Hi Kimberley! Fear not, you definitely get to see her response in GRACEFUL. I’m sooo glad to hear that it was something you thought about, that means a lot to me! In fact, Tara and Julie’s pen-pal relationship is a big part of how Tara deals with things in the new book. Thanks for writing from Canada! xo

ohmigosh I’m sososososososo excited for those sequels to come out! Lol. i just reread your willow falls series and am once again agonizing over waiting 6 WHOLE MONTHS for “Graceful”-but the anticipation will make it more worthwhile, right? …… yeah, just gotta keep telling myself that…… haha anyway, i just had one suggestion: ever had m’n’ms? i know, stupid question:) but what if there were like little candies shaped, sized and colored like that that changed your hair color? it would be so funny to give that to an unsuspecting brother…. 😀 okay well thanks for staying while i ramble, i tend to do that. and thanks for the great books-especially “A Mango Shaped Space” and “Heaven Looks A Lot Like The Mall”. they were both so creative and i SO enjoyed them! A die-hard fan, Rosalia:)

I’m kind of sad that Graceful is the last Willow Falls book.I knew that 11 Birthdays,Finally,13 Gifts and The
Last Present are all about Willow Falls but I didn’t know that they are all connected.
I was kind of hoping you would keep going with the Willow Falls.

  62. Mariah on October 18, 2014 at 2:46 pm

    Hi Wendy!
    I have candy suggestions!
-well, first off i really want Logan to have figured out how to change his candy to gum and back again!
-Next, I was wondering if there could be a candy that was like candy corn only they had all the other vegetables too and the thing was is that they tasted delicious but gave you all the nutritional values of the actual vegetable.
-a s’mores bar the was graham cracker with marshmallow all covered in a layer of chocolate. like the size of a snickers bar? YUM
-Ever had pretzels and rolos? so good! chocolate and caramel goodness! Maybe a candy like that would be delicious!
Those are a couple… I like the S’mores one best! I hope you consider! By the way, I am a total fan of yours! I love all your books and A Mango Shaped Space led me to doing tons of research on Synesthesia! It turns out that i KNOW people who have it! It was so cool! My friend Miranda sees colors with words and numbers too. She even has some personalities for her numbers. Like she hates the number 39 because it’s rude and awful while she loves the number 11 because it’s sun shiny and sweet. I just found that so cool! Thank you so much for all of your work!

In 5th grade I was looking for an author that I could truly get hooked on. That is when I stumbled upon your book “Jeremy Fink and the meaning of life” and at the same time my teacher read your book, “The candy makers”. Then “A Mango Shaped Space”, “11 Birthdays”, ” Finally”,
“Every Soul a Star”, ,and currently, “Pi in the Sky” and, “13 Gifts”. I relate to the lives of the characters in the sense of being different, and ‘unpopular’. I am being homeschooled this year and I am writing a report on you as a normal person, a child, and an author. I am also writing a book on my laptop called, “Zoe’s mis-matched flip-flops” which is about a kid with Asperger’s. I am only 13 but I hope to finish and publish it one because I feel as though that is God’s calling for me. Thank you for being an inspiration.

  65. Yael on October 21, 2014 at 5:41 pm

Hi! I read the Willow Falls series and The Candymakers because my best friend made and I’m SO HAPPY that I read them. Then I read Every Soul A Star and A Mango Shaped Space and right now I am in the middle of Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life, and I LOVE them all. I really love your books! I am so so so so so excited for the willow falls book and the Candymakers sequel. You have inspired me so much that I’m even trying to write me own book! But I might need a few tips from you… I would say for the candy like a candy phone, iPod, or iPad that actually works, but I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t want to eat that.

  66. Louise on October 22, 2014 at 9:12 pm

Hi ms. Mass! I don’t know if you remember, you recently came to my school to speak to us. I really enjoyed it and am glad you liked my note. I hope this works, but I tried to put a picture of the little plaque I made with the pages of your book. If you’re wondering, the paper next to it is a paragraph about friendship 🙂 Hope this works!!!!

    Hi Wendy!!!

I know you might not see this, but I personally LOVED LOVED LOVED the Willow Falls Series!! It was awesome, & can I just say, I SHIP LEMANDA!! Along with Dara & Rake too! ❤️❤️ But anyway, I was wondering, I had a few questions about Graceful, & I was wondering if you could answer them. It would mean so much, I really hope you can!!
    Ok so first:
-When is the exact release date for Graceful? I really wanna know when it comes out, so that I can read it ASAP!
-Next, how old are Leo and Amanda in the book? I want them to be old enough to have a little more romance

  68. Yael on October 23, 2014 at 6:42 pm

Hey- I have an idea for the candy. I would live to have candies that look like vegetables but taste like candy so you can trick your parents!

Wendy, I love your books! Especially, your willow falls series! Recently, I’ve started high school and now don’t belong in the age group for those books. =( For your older fans, will you please continue writing more teen books?
But don’t worry, I still cant wait for Graceful and the new Candymakers book!

  70. Rory on October 26, 2014 at 10:03 pm

I just finished Finally it was so good. My favorite part was when she went to the mall with her friend. My favorite character was Rory the main character because that is my name. I asked my parents were they thought of my name and they said from Wendy Mass’ FINALLY book. I started a new book that I hope one day I could publish called All Because of a breeze. It is about a hedgehog named Mr. Kohxe. My story is about the hedgehog getting blown away from a gush of wind and goes through a lot of problems and dangerous situations.

  72. Hannah on October 27, 2014 at 10:12 pm

    Dear Wendy,
I know you are THE BEST AUTHOR IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. So I am hoping to get your opinion on what to name my book. I wrote a book about a girl, named Anna, and her best friend, Isabel, who is following clues from Anna’s beloved grandfather who died a few years ago (like in a mango shaped space 🙂 ) to find her 12th birthday gift but once she goes to get her gift someone stole it and she and her best friend have to act like detectives to find the thief and her gift. So with you and your SUPER AWESOME AUTHOR SKILLS could you help me think of a name for it?
Your #1 fan, ( who can’t wait for more of your books)
    Hannah.

  73. Lime Watermelon on October 28, 2014 at 6:52 pm

Hi Wendy! I really love your books. Every since someone came home with the sleeping beauty book you wrote I’ve been crazy to get my hands on as many books of yours as I can. I can’t wait for the last Willow Falls book to come out! My favorite books are A Mango Shaped Space, Sleeping Beauty: the one who took the really long nap, Pi in the Sky, and the WiIlow Falls books. Are you planning any trips to Boston, MA any time soon for a possible book signing?
Also maybe you could make different candies, say acorn-sized and round. The outside would be a hard-candy type thing and each inside would have this burst of fruit flavor. Suppose you were making a raspberry one, then the inside could be raspberry juice or cream. Or you could have raspberry cream with chunks of raspberry mixed in or something. You could even do a chocolate-dipped-strawberry flavor.

    Thanks,
    Lime Watermelon

Hi Wendy! I’ve already written on here before, but I love you and your books so much I had to write again!
I’m SO excited for the Candymakers sequel! That’s so great that you’re doing that! It stinks that it’s coming out all the way in 2016 though… but hopefully it will come fast, and hopefully it will even be released earlier (keeping my fingers crossed for that!)!!!!!!!!
As for all of your other books, AMAZING. I’ve read every single one, and I love them all! You are such a great writer and have AMAZING ideas! And I’m SO glad you have this blog, because it keeps me updated on everything, and I’m very glad about that :D!
Anyway, I’m not even kidding when I say I’m counting down the days for your next book releases! I hope they come SUPER soon!
And it would be my DREAM if you looked at this, so I really really really REALLY hope you see this!!!!
    -Jaymie
Oh, and P.S.- In Candymakers #2, you should make Miles, Daisy and Logan’s candy get created by Mr. Sweet and they should all be part of a special edition collection with Philip’s harmonica (and you could make Daisy’s green blob something like… I don’t know, you can blow super sized bubbles?) that would be SOOO cool! 🙂 🙂 🙂

    Hi Wendy!
I’ve loved the Willow Falls series. Please do not stop and even if you do, MAKE A MOVIE. That’s what Rick Riordan did. It calmed me down. Not a whole lot because Christmas is two months away and (spoiler spoiler alert!!! Turn back now, muggles!!!) I STILL don’t know if Annabeth and Percy make it out of Tartuarus. I probably spelled that wrong. Help me!!!

Hi! I can’t wait for GRACEFUL I absolutely loved the Willow Falls series! I really hope it can be from Leo, Amanda, Tara, Rory and Grace’s point of view! Idk know about David or Connor though…But anyway I’m betting the plot has to do something about the letter that Julie gave to Tara. I just had one question: Will ur book tell what happened to Angelina, where she went, or anything about her??

Hi Wendy!!!!!!!!!! OMG I cannot wait for Graceful and the sequel for the candymakers to come out!!!!! And the title for Graceful is so creative like how her name is grace and the books name is graceful, that’s so cool 🙂 I have a few suggestion for the candymakers: 1. a magical ingredient that makes candy tastes good but they can only use it once-maybe they find it in a geocaching box? 2. a message threatening the candymakers that they find in a geocaching box 3. someone finds a poisonous ingredient but they don’t know its poisonous and it makes someone sick. omg you are my favorite writer ever! please don’t ever stop writing!!!!!!!

I can’t wait for Graceful to come out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m sad that Graceful will be the last book in the series though. All your books are amazing and your such a good author. I have a question. You might have said this in one of your posts and I just missed it but…. Are the events in Graceful a few years after the Last Present? I hope it is because then Jake & Rory could be together!!! Keep Writing!

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am for the candy makers sequel! I’ve read it so many times my personal copy is worn and dogeared. (Nasty habit.) It’s such a great book, definitely one of my faves. Looking forward to reading the next book when it comes out! 🙂

Hi Wendy! Oh my god I Love Your books ! I can not wait for graceful to come out but I was wondering why you are calling it Graceful and why did you decide to continue the series because when I read The Last Present I thought it was the end of the series and got sad but whe I saw that you were doing Graceful I was so happy but confused because The Last Present sounder like the end.
Hope these questions can be answered .

    Hi Mrs. Wendy,

I am so excited for Graceful!!!!!!! You are such an amazing author. I own every single one of your books. I need new copies though because mine are a ripped because I have read them soooooooooooo many times.
I also wanted to say thank you. You write the most amazing things and I cant imagine what I would read without you books. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!’

  86. Maryam on November 15, 2014 at 1:27 pm

Candies…hmm. Maybe a candy that also works as an eraser? xD Probably not, but it’s the first thing I came up with. Maybe there could be candy that makes you speak gibberish for a minute so no one understands you, or one that feels like it’s alive once you eat it?

  87. Madeline J on November 16, 2014 at 11:09 pm

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m so look HAPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYYYYYUYUYYYY:D!!!!!!!!!!!!! OK, sorry to sound like a lunatic; I’m just a huge fan and I go nuts for all of your books! But seriously, the reason I’m so excited is because I just saw that GRACEFUL is now available for preordering on Amazon! Congrats to you and I’m so amazingly ecstatic about it I ran into my sister’s room, woke her up, and practically screamed the news in her face! Then I did the exact same thing to my mom. While my sister wasn’t quite as forgiving, my mom was just relieved I had something else to read (despite me reading pretty much all the time, you’d be surprised at the fact that I happen to be a very picky reader. At least I was, until I found your books!).Anyway, I congratulate you on your great accomplishments and hope to be reading GRACEFUL soon! Thank you!

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I am in love with all your books, and I am so excited to hear that the Willow Falls books are continuing! You are my absolute favorite author! It all started in 3rd grade when I read Every Soul A Star, and I instantly fell in love with the way you write. At first when I started reading 11 Birthdays, for a school project, I didn’t know that it was a series until I read more and realized that they were connected! I have read SOOO many of your books including Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life (which I got the movie for Christmas 2 years ago because I loved the book so much!), Finally, 11 Birthdays, Every Soul A Star, A Mango-Shaped Space, 13 Gifts, and I am reading The Candymakers right now! I just got to a part where there was a TOTAL plot twist!! Your books actually make me want to read;). Keep doing what your doing! Thank you!!

  89. Audrey on November 23, 2014 at 7:47 am

Hi Wendy! I am a huge fan. I own alot of your books, just not finally, rapunzel and Beaty and the beast and the candy makers’ the space taxi books and lead day!ok, so maybe that’s quite a bit… But I have read and love them all. I especially love a mango shaped space, every soul a star, leap day and the willow falls series. excited for graceful! I was just wondering if it will not only have Amanda, Leo, Rory, and Tara in it, but also people like Rory and Amanda’s old friends? I think it would be really cool if it did! I really fell in love with Stephanie and then she was hardly in the other books! But I’m sure graceful will be great either, so excited! Now to start re-reading the whole series again for the hundredth time in preheat ion. It will only take me like a week but I can re-read your other books while I wait for graceful and maybe the willow falls series a few times!

Hi Wendy! I just wanted to say that I read 11 birthdays, finally, 13 gifts, and I’m reading the last present right now!! I just just wanted to tell you that you are an AMAZING author, and also my favorite author. Your books are making my grades go really high! My goal is to try to read ALL of your books that you did. Also, Happy Thanksgiving!!

  91. Madeleine on November 25, 2014 at 9:55 pm

My daughter LOVES each and every book you have written. She is 10 and will be 11 on December 10. She hasn’t read all of your books due to appropriateness. I want to thank you for the amazing books that you have written. When I told her that there is another book about Willow Falls, there was a lot of yelling and screaming! I love that my daughter is 10 and has a favorite author! She loves everything you write.

Do you do book tours? We live in Phoenix and she would flip if she knew you were coming to our city. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

  92. Scarlle on November 27, 2014 at 9:07 am

I have read ALL your books except those two teenage books. But I’m TOTALLY reading them after my 12th birthday in January. And: Will u be giving us preview of the book Graceful? Like Pi in the Sky? I loved that book. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

I’m SO glad that you’re writing more books! I’ve read almost every one! 😀 The first one I read was 11 Birthdays. (Which I read on my eleventh birthday by the way!) 😉 I totally adored it! I then moved on to most of your other books. The last one I read was A Mango-Shaped Space. It was so interesting!
I love how that, when I read, I can almost see the events happening. It’s almost like watching a movie, but I can feel their emotions and hear their thoughts. Like in A Mango-Shaped Space, I loved imagining all the colors.
When someone asks me what my favorite book is, I say, ‘I don’t know, but Wendy Mass is my favorite author.’ 🙂
I have a candy idea for the Candymakers sequel: A Hermonocandy shaped like a violin! I really think Phillip would like that.
    Keep writing! 🙂

Hi Wendy Mass! I just wanted to say that you inspire me a lot and I really want to be an author like you. Today I was working on my book project and I chose The Last Present because I really enjoyed and when I was doing some research about you I found out that you and I share the same birthday. I hope the computer wasn’t lying. Is your birthday April 22nd? Mine is. I am really excited for Graceful to come out. I hope my school library orders it. The library is the only way I can read your books. I also ended having to read 13 Gifts before Finally because somebody had it out for a really long time. I am your BIGGEST fan. I have read a lot of your books. The first one I read was 11 Birthdays then I read Every Soul a Star, 13 Gifts, Finally, Rapunzel (LOVED IT!), Sleeping Beauty, and The Last Present. I am planning on reading Heaven looks a lot like the Mall and the Candy-Makers. Thanks for taking your time to write all these AMAZING books!

    Dear Wendy,

The Willow Falls series is my absolute favorite series! Every character is so awesome and they all fit in so well. You have inspired me to write my own books someday. I’m only 12, and I really want to write something exciting! Of all of your 4 willow falls books that are out now, I enjoyed 11 Birthdays the most. The twists and turns are so much fun! I laughed a lot at some parts! Good luck with your future books! I’ll definitely read Graceful this next Spring!

    Thanks so much, – Nevaeh

I hope you like the ideas and i can’t wait for your books to come out!

They should totally make the candymakers movie in the character’s point of view (like through their eyes) so that you don’t see the person. That way they can’t see Logan’s scars/burns.
Btw I love all of your books

  107. Stephanie on December 28, 2014 at 12:23 am

Hi Wendy! I’m so excited to finally be commenting on one of your posts! You are one of my absolute favorite authors and I have read almost all of your books. I think that my favorite is the Candy-makers. Maybe you can include that Logan accidentally-on-purpose finds out the way to make the Bubbletastic ChocoRocket. Also, it would be so cool if any of your books (aside from Jeremy Fink) were made into movies! That would be amazing. I also love love love you willow falls series, and am so excited that you are coming out with a new book!!! (I’m kind of upset that I have to wait, but whatever, at least there’s another book) Anyway, I think you should totally go on a book tour for your new book(s) and come to CA! It would be amazing if I could meet you/get my books signed by you. Anyway, I’m pretty sure you are tired of my blabbering, so bye!

Can’t wait for your new book to the Willow Falls series Graceful! I also read Every Soul A Star, A Mango-Shaped Space, and Jeremy Fink And The Meaning Of Life. If you could, please write more books to the Willow Falls series. Happy New Year!

I can’t wait for both Graceful and The Great Chocolate Chase. I am a huge fan of both The Candymakers and the wonderful Willow Falls books. I’m actually going through and reviewing all four of the Willow Falls books on my book blog, and I thought you might be interested in reading my reviews. My review of 11 Birthdays is up here, and my review of Finally goes live on Monday.

    Hi Wendy!
I love your books! I am currently re reading the Willow Falls series.
    (so excited for Graceful!)
I first heard about you when The Candymakers was recommended to me. I can’t wait for the sequel! I just finished reading Beauty and the Beast, Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life, A Mango-Shaped Space, and Pi in the Sky. I also loved Every Soul a Star. I got my sister really interested in your books as well, she’s reading Beauty and the Beast currently. You’ve inspired us both greatly- I’ve started writing like crazy! (I’ve written 52 pages so far.)
On my vacations we’ve never really seen “strange” sights, but I have some funny-ish stories. When we went to Venice, the first day we were there we went walking. We brought the stroller for my little brother and soon regretted it! The streets we crowded (no cars, only boats and walkers!) and we couldn’t get anywhere dragging the stroller along! We kept bumping into everyone. There are many stairs to the bridges too, so we had to drag the stroller up and down stairs. It’s funny now, but not at the time! Also, when we went to London and Paris, we forgot the charger to our camera and didn’t realize it until we had gotten to the hotel in London! The whole trip we had to save the battery for the best sights and make sure we didn’t use up too much at once. Good thing we had brought the iPad!
    Sincerely,
    Alexandra

Hello, I love your books so much! You are my favorite author, and your books are so inspiring to me. Especially Every Soul a Star, I used to own that one but gave it to my best friend for her 13th birthday. She loves it too. 🙂 Also one idea for a new candy could be a Lust-Bust (or any other name, this was just off the top of my head) which would be the size of your hand and split into four different flavors: Sour, Sweet, Chocolate, and Mystery. And then the 4 kids could split the flavors amongst themselves or something. Just an idea. I just love your books SOOOOOOOOO much and am so happy you’re coming out with new ones!!!

    Thank you so much!

  115. Coral on January 11, 2015 at 9:49 am

Hi Wendy! I was thinking about it and wondering, wouldn’t it be cool if there was an Every Soul A Star sequel? I just re-read it and remembered how awesome it was. I know that it kind of is a book that would make sense to not have a sequel, but a sequel would be so awesome!

    Thanks,

  118. Annie and Elsie on January 21, 2015 at 1:58 pm

    Hi Wendy!
We are identical twins and we love your books. You are an inspiration in our life. We read your books together all the time! We like to read them out loud and we each act out a different character. (Annie is usually Leo and Elsie is Amanda whenever we read 13 Gifts) We are DYING to see the Candymakers when it comes out. We face everything together and whenever we are going through difficult times we pick up your books and a smile blooms on our faces. Us young adult readers are able to easily relate to the characters in the books.
We have so many inside jokes between each other about different things in your books. (For example, whenever we eat chocolate pancakes, we laugh and think of Leo. Also, Elsie has a bunny and she is scared to sleep at night because she thinks the bunny will bite her toes off).
We not only like your books but we also think you’re amazing. You have a great personality and you are absolutely brilliant.
Our hearts want to thank you for everything you have done for us. You are amazing! Thank you!
We were wondering if you are planning to go on tour ever, because if so we would love to see you (Raleigh, NC… please)!

    Your readers,
Annie and Elsie (your BIGGEST fans)

  123. Katelin on February 5, 2015 at 4:27 pm

    Dear Mrs. Mass,
HI! This is Katelin. I just wanted to thank you for writing these books. They have been great fun and inspiration for me and my friends, and we’re freshman in high school!! We lost power for two months recently( long story) and during that time, I reread your books…hold on….let me check my list….. 20 times each!
I actually reread 11 birthdays thirty times: I’m ATTACHED to that book. Seriously, do you want to know how much trouble these books have gotten me in to?
1.) I was left behind on a school field trip because I was deeply engrossed in A MAngo Shaped Space and did not notice everyone had left the building!
2.) I left FInally at my brother’s therapy appointment,( He was just diagnosed wit Asperger’s) and had to walk a mile to get it back!
3.) I’ve lost, oh, twenty points for reading your books in gym class.
4.) I had to teach my spanish class for two days because I was reading every soul a Star and didn;t realize we were taking a quiz, and the teacher thought I was cheating!
So I just wanted to let you know that you have a very DEDICATED and CRAZY fan whose willing to break school rules to read your books( My best friend, Mcchael , jokes that I’m worse than Hermione Granger when It comes to breaking rules:D)
    Sincerely,
    ME!!!!
P.S- since my best friend is a guy, we can both kind of relate to the whole AManda/LEo thing, and we both hope Leo and AMAnda get married!!

  124. Chocolate lover on April 3, 2015 at 6:29 pm

I just wanted you to know how enjoyable and inspiring your books have been, particularly the Willow Falls series. My favorite out of all your books is A Mango-Shaped Space! I actually had to buy a new copy because my other one is so old that pages are falling out of it and everything. 🙂 I’m really looking forward to Graceful and the second Candymaker, I really need some new books to
read(I’m pretty sure I have your books and Harry Potter basically memorized xD). But a anyways, thanks for all the wonderful stories you have provided 🙂

Two of my friends and I want to be writers like you and we would love if you have a few tips for us! Maybe you could even come to Sofia for a visit :)? Do you know when the new Candymakers book will be released? I can’t wait to read it! Will it have the four different perspectives as well? Out of all your books I relate to the Willow Falls series the most, and they just make me feel so happy when I read them!! Is there some cute Amanda/Leo, Rory/Jake, and David/Tara moments :)?
Thank you for writing all your books!!
