Short but sweet
Just popping in with two quick things before writing a proper blog next week. First, THANK YOU to all the people who suggested titles for my work-in-progress!! I love them!! My editor and I are in the process of narrowing it down and I’ll let you know the outcome. Also…I’m happy to announce that FINALLY, the companion book to 11 BIRTHDAYS, has been nominated for a Children’s Choice Book Award. If you enjoyed reading FINALLY, feel free to vote for it. Of course if you liked one of the other books better, you should vote for that one. The Children’s Book Council sponsors the awards and they’re all about promoting reading–so ya might as well just read them all. :o)

That book rocks! My Mom is a teacher, she asked me to read it. I am in the process of reading it, and just finished Jeremy Fink and the meaning of life. Wendy Mass is a great writer, and I am definitely going to vote for 11 birthdays. I love the plot, and everything so far, I am only on Chapter 8. Can’t Wait to see the outcome!

i voted for finally! i cant wait for the 13 book to come out! i got the twice upon a time books from the library today cuz they are the only ones of your books i have not read and they are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also, my copy of a mango shaped space turned out to be my cusuins, that they let me borrow YEARS ago, and finally remembered about, so i had to give it back, and now there is an “a mango shaped space” shaped space in my bookshelf. then i wanted to read it so i made my mom buy it on her kindle. im THAT addicted to your books!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope finally wins, bye!

I I’m new to your blog,but i love FINALLY and 11 BIRTHDAYS.I love the ending of 11 Birthdays when their mom walks in the room when they say “It’s a Date.”I just laughed so hard,and I was shocked,like amazed when you mentioned the girl from 11 Birthdays in FINALLY.I was like,”oh!That’s the girl from 11 Birthdays!” I will definitely vote for FINALLY!

Hi Wendy, I’m doing a Reading project in that subject.
One of the things we are talking about is culture about our author. I picked you as my author and I still Don’t get your culture. My Reading teahcer says culture is about their background. The thing is, is that all the information websites about you don’t say any background about you. So I was wondering if you could tell me about what happened to you as a child, for example: Lois Lowry’s father was in W.W.II so she wrote her books adding what happened to her. Like when her sister died she honored her book: A Summer to Die, about her sister. So do you base your stories off of your history in the past?
So sorry I missed this way back when, but my answer would have been that I didn’t have anything major like the example you gave, I was always an inquisitive kid, always curious about how other people lived, which I think provided a good background for a writer. All my best if you see this! -Wendy
OMG!!!! I love Finally!!! I got it last year and you know what? TODAY (April 20th) is my Birthday and Im turning 12!!! Anyways I voted for your book cuz I absolutly ♥ it!
